M&P 22 slide not locking back

I love my M&P 22 but the slide won't stay locked open after the last round in the mag. Anyone know what could cause this?

I'm pretty sure I'm not activating the slide release with my hands.

maybe the rounds your using arent strong enough to kick it back all the way?? Do you have FTE's with the rounds you're using?

could be the slide release is being held down by you (let a friend shoot it and see if it locks back) the ammo could be a bit on the light side, or it could just need a good cleaning and lubing.

Put your mags in empty and try and pull the slide all the way back. Does it lock doing this with each mag? If so, it's your ammo. I have the same issue with my Ruger Mark III and ####ty ammo. Doesn't have enough power to move the slide back into a locking position, but far enough to actually cycle the gun.

Sometimes it is the mag follower in the magazine itself, since it is usually the mag follower that activates the slide lock.
With the CZ Kadet kits it was a fairly common problem that could be solved with a good cleaning inside the magazines and
maybe lightly sand the trailing edge of the mag follower.
