I’m not much of a pistol guy so go easy on me. I hope I call everything by the right names.

I just installed a Apex Forward Set Sear trigger in my M&P9 and I’m having issues with the initial take up of the trigger pull.

What is happening is when the nub on the trigger bar pushes on the striker block it has trouble riding up on top of it. It takes a few pounds of pull to get the trigger bar over the striker block.

Visually the Apex striker block is more square on the top edge where the trigger bar slides over it and it also sticks out more. With the stock striker block the first bit of trigger pull is much smoother.

Anyone have any ideas of what is going on?

Thanks.

Looks like I might have got the striker block springs mixed up.

One is a lot lighter then the other. With the light one it feels really good on the first bit of take up.

Apex has some videos on youtube (think they have links on the website) on the triggers that you may want to check out if you have not yet, may help.

The Apex striker block is more round with smooth edges. The stock one is more cylindrical in shape.

Apex said the same thing but the stock S&W part was more rounded.

I took apart a second M&P to compare and the only odd one out was more square at the top.
