M&P 9 Apex trigger question

I got the Apex forward set sear and polymer trigger kit for my M&P 9.

Ideally I'd like to reach about a 5 lbs break. Anyone out there have any suggestions on combinations of spring I could use to achieve this?

After installing everything and using the lighter of the 2 trigger return springs I ended up with about a 3.5lbs trigger pull, which feels amazing, but is too light for what I'm after. I tried using the heavier trigger return spring that came in the kit (the green one) but it didn't seem to make any difference, still breaking at 3.5 lbs. What can I do to make it a bit heavier but preserve the nice smooth and clean feel?

The green trigger return spring is supposed to give a 5-5.5# trigger pull. Are you sure you installed the parts correctly?

How new is your M&P and what version? Did you do any other polishing or change the sear angle? The newest M&P Pro may behave as you described.

Mine's just a regular M&P9, not a pro. It's about 3 years old (2012ish). No polishing or any other work done to either the factory sear or the Apex sear.

I'm gonna pull it apart again tonight and triple check everything, and swap out to the factory sear spring and see if that makes a difference.
