I bought a m&p9 range kit off the EE and the fellow that sold it to me said he fired 50 rounds. I inspected it when I received it and I believe him. I put 300 rounds of mixed factory ammo through it to make sure it works prior to starting load development with my own cast 356-120tc bullets. I fired 115, 124, 147, fmj, tc, hp, black talon, nato etc etc. No problems and no malfunctions.

I cast a few hundred 356-120 TC bullets. They weight ~125gr with the 50/50 lube on them ready to load. I settled on 3.9gr of vit n320, mixed headstamp brass, fed sp primers. Average for 25 shots is 1045fps and it groups fist size for 10 shots at 25 yards unsupported. So makes 125pf, accurate enough and I'm done. Just have to load a bunch now and I'm ready for summer.

I have had several glocks and I know them well and I bought this one to check it out and for its ability to shoot cast without having to get an aftermarket barrel for a glock (or shoot cast in the polygonal barrel which I'm not keen on, ymmv). Hickock liked it so I figured why not.

I like that it's accurate enough for my needs, feels good and functions fine.

I do not like that field strip isn't as simple. I also completely disassembled it yesterday and I do hate that it's so annoyingly difficult. You have to take the rear sight off, extractor roll pin has to be hammered out, roll pins in the frame etc. Glock is MUCH easier and faster. Don't even get me started on trying to hook the trigger spring back into the middle frame pin. What a pita. Trigger is also heavy but other than that fine.

So it functions fine, feels good, field strips easy but complete disassembly is a pita. Now if you only shoot a few hundred a year and never completely take it appart until you have a few thousand rounds down range complete dissassembly might only occur once every few years for you or you may sell it before ever doing this so might not be an issue for you. Just my .02

Field strip is as easy as a Glock. I think you mean a complete detail strip.

If you do it the way the manual says it's not as easy. I can't get my fat finger in there to push the sear deactivation lever down and have to use a tool. And I did say:

You don't need to push the sear down. Rack the slide, prove it safe, move the slide lock down, release the slide, pull the trigger and remove the slide. It's just that easy. The sear is for agencies that don't allow pulling the trigger to release the slide.

You said ' I do not like that field strip isn't as simple '. That's what I was referring to.

Take apart a Sig or an HK and the M&P seems like a dream - also, since it sounds like you shoot a lot, you can completely rebuild an M&P's wear surfaces without buying a new gun. Oh yes, the Apex trigger kit comes with a slave pin for reassembling the trigger spring - highly recommended.
