M&P compact?

Storm Lake is making Canadian-length barrels to fit them.

It's just a matter of time before an importer takes the initiative to import the compact M&P.

Ask Questar.

Thread: Conversion Barrel for M&P

yep...106mm or longer (barrel)...but as Wendall says...it could be imported by Questar (along with the longer barrel) and then you could probably get that as restricted. However, you wouldn't get the short original barrel and the costs involved would make it not worth it. You'd probably end up paying a couple grand just for a smallish M&P...now if a bunch of people wanted in on it together then it could probably get the cost down...but this is all theoretical at this point (unless someone is actively working on it...but I haven't read anything here about that).

The 9mm gun is great, it shoots very nice, and is really accurate. But unless you're able to use it in the intended role of concealed carry, you're better off getting the regular M&P.

(yes, I know, there's no reason needed to get one except wanting it, but taking cost and practicality into consideration, the difficulties in getting one don't seem worth it, to me anyway.)

And a timely message from Hurricane Butterfly:
No export project is too big or small. The smallest export transaction performed by Hurricane Butterfly was valued at several hundred dollars, but represented large future potential. Hurricane Butterfly’s largest export transaction exceeded a million dollars and required U.S. Congressional notification. Both transactions were treated as equal in importance, and were performed with personal attention and diligence.

The base fee for preparing the export documents is $250 plus 5% of the transaction value, with a minimum fee of $500. This fee includes all fees paid to U.S. Government Agencies, to include the U.S. State Department. For transactions exceeding $250,000 in value, or for the export of unusual items, the export fee may be negotiated. Alternate rates are available to Canadian and Australian collectors.

Delivery terms are Ex-Works Tacoma, Washington; shipping costs are not included within the fee charged to prepare the export documents. At the end of 2009, Hurricane Butterfly had a 97.8% success rate in DSP-5 export permit approvals.

You know there is no law against you carrying a concealed pistol inside your own home (say if its holstered).

I know many will jump at that statement but the gun is not being stored, is always in your control (being holstered) and is not in need of an ATT until it leaves your door.

Food for thought.

hahahaha x2!

If it's in your home, then the full size is just as easy to conceal, and probably more fun and useful when you take it to the range for target shooting or competition.

Try appendix carry sometime. Try it all day. See what you think then.

Yeah, cause appendix carry in the house, all day, is really necessary.

Having said that, I know a few guys that carry full-size pistols AIWB and they don't have any issues.

All I can tell you is that polymer pistols have done a lot for carrying. I worked for years with an armoured car company carrying a heavy steel revolver on my hip. Now I love revolvers, but the new light pistols must be great to carry for comfort. And the natural evolution would be a smaller one for more comfort.

If you are in Southern Ontario Buffalo Gun Center will export a gun for you for $100 + 5% and they take care of all the paperwork and fees all you have to do is register it here, and pick it up at the border!

Has anyone actually used their service? What was the person's name at the shop who was your contact?

Thanks

i have purchased most of the firearms i own from buffalo gun centre both while i lived in the US and while i lived in canada, if i am not mistaken there is always someone in the store who can do canadian orders, be prepared to wait ALOT longer then you normally would, the best is 4-6 weeks iirc i have waited 90 days for a triple pistol order

I can carry my full-size M&P 9 at 4 o'clock Mexican style with a 15 degree can't and it disappears under my shirt... until I bend over or reach up, that is :D
