m&p how good are they?

I'll qualify - I hadn't been able to find any Safariland holsters for it - at least never at Dave's :) SL snobbery, I guess.

Try Blade Tec, and Com Tec, they both make holsters for the M&P as does Uncle Mikes. Mine rests in a Blade Tec. I haven't looked but I suspect Blackhawk also makes a holster fo rthis pistol.

As to the mags I have five and they are all still with me. I son't bounce them off cement but they do hit our gravel range and seem to have survived OK.

Take Care

Went the Brownells route as suggested and placed the order - hopefully the whole Safariland mess we are seeing with Dave's hasn't made it's way to them yet and they will ship it to Canada. Glad to see holsters have finally started showing up, I gave up last year trying to find one and just grabbed a SL 6004 for a Sig and carved it up to fit the M&P.

Thanks for the help gents - it's much appreciated!

spoke to a gunrange/shop and they bashed the m/p pretty hard. said for lots of lead downrange they do not hold up very well, as in the fall apart. can anyone confirm this? if so, sounds like US handguns are about the same value as GM products.

Go to mp-pistol.com and search the torture test - over 60 000 thats right thousand rounds through a M&P 9 in less than a year with almost no FTF FTE etc and only two broken Parts neither of which put the gun out of action. after all this shooting the groups only opened up about 1/4". Tough enough I'd say

yes, i came across that fact as well. one can only hope that the american philosophy of short term profit NOW is not in effect. i would think that S&W would be killing themselves in regard to future auto sales if this thing is in fact a dud.

Exactly which bit falls apart? Which range/shop? My BS detector is flashing here. Do they have a large stock of Austrian made Perfection that they want to sell?? I've put a sh*t load of ammo through 2 recent production samples and they haven't just been good - they've been flawless. There were issue with the first 2 revisions, but after rev N they're good to go, there are now too many pros using these things for them to be crap. Check out Pistol-Training.com, for a blow-by-blow on the 60,000 round test.

We have had some issues with the M&Ps. Nothing really major, however we have never had one get near 60,000rds. I had had a barrel and a slide crack, but the most common issue seems to be the slide stop breaking off. They are fairly durable guns, better than many but not as good as others.
