M&P model versions

FYI.
I have been researching and talking to dealers about the M&P (40).

Apparently most of what are available in Canada (actually all I can find so far) have the internal lock, mag disconnect safety and are version 'M'.

The M version had some issue with light primer strikes, and there were also changes to the frame from M to N.

The VERY early models didn't have a melonite finish on the slide (but I think these are long gone though).

I can live with the safeties, but would much prefer a 'N' version. M&P's are going cheap right now...it has got me wondering if S&W are trying to move these in Canada, away from the litigous and large market of the USA.....mmmmmmmmm
 
I just bought a 9mm for my wife from target sports at a smoking great price (thanks pat):)

Hers has the mag disconnect, but no internal lock(trigger lock)

Her serial is MPH###X

Goto this site below, they have the info on trouble spots of these guns with the approx serial numbers for each update
