M&P Range Kit Pistol Quality vs Regular M&P?

I picked up a new S&W M&P .40 range kit from my dealer last week, seems like a nice all around kit for the money, I noticed something different from my previous M&P pistol, the new one is not marked stainless on the slide. I looked on the S&W website, noticed they list the frame a polymer, the rest of the non kit M&P's are listed as Zytel polymer, wondering now if the range kits are a cheaper version lol, any input?

Huh, I have the same kit, gonna take a look after work. Haven't had any issues with it in the year I've had it. I can't see S+W pulling a Walmart on this. Kit was definitely a good deal.

Who knows, maybe its a new batch and they dont mark stainless on the slides anymore, I had 2 other M&P's that had it, no biggie lol.

Mine says stainless on the slide. Bought a back in January. Mine is the 9mm but I doubt that would make a difference.

They don't stamp them with the stainless rollmark any more. Probably saves them a few cents per gun and all the paperwork still says melonite treated stainless anyway.

The gun is exactly the same otherwise.

My range carry kit M&P9 has "stainless" on the slide.

I just bought a standard MP 9 and it does not say stainless on the slide and it was not in a range kit.
