when i added my 2.5 - 10 x42 with extra high rings i felt cramped trying to sight the target, after adding 1/2" risers
to the scope mounts i have found a comfortable cheekweld for me.i used yankee hill 1/2"x1&1/4 riser, i also like the extra grab on the polymer rail

S&w m&p 15-22

If you're interested, here's some stuff I did with mine:

I also installed the Norgon Amb-Catch, they work without any modifications, and are available from ATRS here in Canada.

Mine now also have Aimpoint PRO red dot sights attached.

I have over 1000 rounds of various ammo through each of mine with only a couple of FTFs that was attributable to bad ammo. They only get lubed and have a bore snake run through them every few hundred rounds.

Let me know if you want any further information.

Regards.

Mark

I'd be interested in more info and some pictures on this. Also have you looked at the Magpul BAD lever or the Tactical Link Battery Assist Lever? The Tactical Link one looks like a better fit for the 15-22.

As a lefty I'm always looking for this kind of thing. Although I find that using my right thumb on the mag release works well.

Thanks

Mike

Oh and I'm looking at using the Burris PEPR to mount my scope. I'll let you know how that works in a couple of months once the "gun budget" resets. :D

Norgon Ambi-Catch

I haven't taken any photo's of the Ambi-Catch, as it installs and fits exactly the same as it does in regular ARs. It is easier to install using the Norgon tool, which only costs a couple of dollars. I have them on all my ARs, and I set up the 15-22s to function the same, so they can be used for economical training.

I am also left handed, and my trigger finger is long enough to engage both the Ambi-Catch and both ends of the bolt release. I have heard both good and bad things about the BAD Lever, and it is designed to allow right handers to do what we left handed people can already do. If you want some good discussion on the BAD, look at M4Carbine.

With the Ambi-Catch and ambi safety, the AR is about as left hand friendly as I need. In fact, I feel it is more left hand friendly than right handed, as I can operate all the controls and see into the ejection port without changing my grip or moving my head much.

Regards.
