Looking at what's available, I came across the following. What would feed and cycle best in my new S&W M&P22?

Remington 22 Thunderbolt, 40gr. roundnosed lead, 1255 fps.

Remington 22 Subsonic, 38gr. hollowpoint, 1050 fps.

Remington 22 Yellow Jacket, 33gr truncated cone hollowpoint, 1500 fps hypervelocity

These are available in 500s so look to be a better deal than the Winchester in boxes of 50.

Winchester copper plated 36gr lead hollow point, 1280 fps, box of 333

The pistol isn't too picky as it pertains to cycling. However, mine leaded up something fierce at the outset when I used non-plated (Winchester Wildcat - yeah, I know...not high quality) lead bullets. After only 150 rounds, I cleaned literally chunks of lead out of the muzzle end of the barrel. If you search this phenomenon, you'll find that I'm not alone in this observation. The plated rounds I used after that (Federal or Winchester bulk) worked fine. Happy shooting! It is a fine pistol.

I'm a big fan of CCI and I've had bad experiences with the Remington line of ammo. It seems that I'm not alone in this, and from what I've been reading on some of the other threads Winchester also seems to have some quality control issues. I only use Federal or CCI in my .22 cal. rifles.

The problem seems to be finding somebody with any bulk boxes in stock. The ones I listed are the only ones I've found so far. Would you recommend the copper plated Winchester over the Remington then?

I am also a fan of anything CCI. Blazers are my favorite bulk ammo. Any good ammo is hard to find now but I buy MiniMags, Blazers, Federal or even Remington Golden bullet when I can. I have been buying some Sellier and Bellot 22 lr in 50 round boxes. They work good in all my semis. 8-10 cents a round is the going price in Nova Scotia when you can find any 22 lr. I won't buy Winchester.

I don't have much experience with the M&P but the fiancé has a sig mosquito that is a pain in the a$$ with FTEs and FTEs but when we started using the yellow jackets it got way better. It went from a problem every mag with a completely clean gun to almost no issues at all. Now that's all I use in that gun, it seems to like the yellow jackets more than the CCIs which I found surprising. Hope that helps a bit.

Round nose, copper plated, high velocity is the way to go; you may have troubles with hollow points. Cci, win. M22, rem thundercrap (beware the lead build up). I don't like paying premium prices for 22.
