I have 2 M1 bayonets that I'm trying to determine a proper price for. The sword bayonet is stamped and dated OL. US 1943 with a flaming bomb and the short bayonet is stamped HTK M/62. What is the approximate value for each?

Check ebay for current values. The older USGI models for the M1903 Springfield and M1 Garand with 10 and 16 inch blades are getting pretty pricey. They're even flogging Chinese-made replicas of these and the scabbards.

When you value them, that long bayonet is very likely a reproduction and will be considerably less value than an original.

The short M5 looks good from the picture you posted. It was made for Denmark.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I suspect that what purple is describing is exactly what you’ve got on the 16” M1942. An original could be in the $300+ range, but this one might be $100? There’s a re-enactor website called “At The Front” that you can reference for reproduction pricing.

The shorter post-war Danish M62 bayonet is probably worth somewhere in the $50-$75 range.

I figured from looking in eBay that the long bayonet is a repro. Fortunately these bayonets were a throw in with my M1 and I'm trying to clear out what isnt being used in the reloading room.

I have a Turkish-modified one for a Garand. Neat the way they were set up to work. Good story behind the mod.

Repro Garand Bayonet 16" sells for around $65 to $100, the Danish M5A1/W scabbard probably with a German made M8A1 bayonet. Called the M/62 by the Danish Military ranges between $65 USD to $195 CDN depending on condition.

A lot of the early 16 inch M1905 bayonets, originally issued with the M1903, as well as the WW2 made 16 inch blades, were cut down to 10 inch length to match the length of the WW2 made M1 bayonets. The early M1905s made by Springfield and Rock island were serial numbered. There is a pecking order on value with the uncut M1905s and early WW2 16 inch blades at the top. Some WW2 makers were scarcer too.
