Nearly all factory ammo is loaded to be close to milspec velocities. Around 1800fps. Under 1500fps would likely not cycle that action.
120 grain cast bullets, with a gas check, loaded with Unique(5.5 to 6.5 grains) go 1555fps max., according to my Lyman manual. The trick is finding them if you don't cast your own.
Do not shoot other people's reloads. You have no idea if they know what they're doing.

Why are the 1500 fps? I would say just go with factory ammo or reload your own.
