M1 Carbine question

more importantly..... what mags do you have ;)
I believe..... but m39a2 will know more...... but it's certain mags that affect the bolt hold open feature

The issue M1 has a mannual bolt hold open on the cocking handle, it was never equipped with a mag actuated hold open devise. The magazine follower itself held the bolt back when the last round was fired by having a flat on the back of the mag follower. When you withdraw the mag, the bolt goes forward.
I don't know about the commercial versions.

Same on my plainfield.
The back of the magazine follower is straight down to catch the bolt, the normal follower is slanted to allow the bolt to ride over it and close.
I don't really see much of a point to the bolt-hold-open magazines.

None of my 15 round magazines have the bolt hold open cut on the follower. All of my 30 round magazines do.

My commercial Plainsfield M1 carbine has the bolt hold open feature on the op. rod as well.
