M1 carbine rail?

What's the best way to mount a scope rail onto an M1 carbine? I was thinking of putting an aimpoint on mine.
(pics please if you've done it?)

or, is there a decent stock to drop it into?

I have a Plainfield with the metal perforated guard.

There is a company that manuf. a scope mount for the carbine that just slides into the dovetail cutout for the original carbine sight. I have on and it works very well for its intended purpose and I have a full sized 3-9 mounted on it so it would work perfectly for a red dot or laser as they don't weigh near as much as a full sized. company name was Norstar or north star and was in a dark green box ( cant find it at the moment to verify for you, sorry).
