M1 carbine range target report

Any M1 carbine range reports out there with pisc. Restricted or non restricted. Here is a Quality H. Receiver with mixe G.I. parts & post and a 20 1/2'' barrel. The carbine at the top of the pic. Target 100 yds. The blue dot ( 5 rds ) is my first shots to adjust the rear sight. Used factory FMJ. Got 2 more carbine to test.

You can always go back with just a barrel change. Not really bubba, just making a nice carbine more user friendly for use in Canada. And yes I do own one I changed the barrel on and I take it out in the woods now and again. Kept the GI barrel just in case. Much fun!

I believe it is the action that makes it restricted, not the barrel,

Sorry you are wrong. Barrel length less then 18.5 inches. New barrel over that and your good to get deregistered.

As far as I can remember, there is no point in keeping the original barrel unless you get another restricted gun and want to use it for that because it has a better bore as once you change it to non-restricted it has to stay that way and you can't change it back to restricted ever again. I'm sure there will be others that will confirm this...

It depends on the barrel lenght. If you have one with an 18" barrel then its restrected if you put 18.5" barrel or longer one on it, you have to call CFC and they will change it from restricted to non res. If you put the short barrel back you have to call CFC to reregister it as restrected again, when thats done you can call CFO for an ATT and you can go to the shooting range, just like that..

If you want a non-res carbine, just buy an Auto Ord - they come from the factory with a long barrel and you're not messing with history.

That is so true. The Auto Ordnance M1 Carbine, is such a treat to own and shoot. I'm deeply satisfied with it.

Hence the purpose for keeping the original barrel.
