Does anyone know if the USGI M1 Carbine wood stock will fit a Chiappa M1-22 rifle?

I've got a chance to get a wood stock to replace the synthetic one on the Chiappa, but don't want to wind up reselling the wood stock if it doesn't fit.

For what it is worth I have a Global M1 19inch barrel and the Government M1 stock does not interchange i would think the Chiappa is in the same boat ? only my guess

You will need to hand fit it to change the stock, the M1-22 was built in metric measurements while the M1 .30 carbine was built in imperial. This results in little annoying bits that don't fit together. I don't have a regular stocked M1 carbine but I tried to put the M1-22 into an AO M1A1 stock, which I did not leave it in and returned to its original configuration.

The M1 carbine upper hand guard won't fit the M1-22 bayonet lug/barrel band and the rear part of the receiver doesn't fit into the recoil plate. This might be due to the fact that the AO carbines are out of spec of USGI ones but I would suspect you would have to hand fit the stock, either by filing it down or shimming it up in places.

If you don't want to gamble try asking Murray Charlton enterprises the Canadian Chiappa warranty center if they would sell you an M1-22 stock separately. They probably stock a lot of parts being a warranty center or at least can get you the parts you need.
