Hello,

I am looking for a synthetic stock for a M1 Carbine (plainsfield) and a scout scope mount (like the ones sold by Fulton Armory). I was wondering if anyone knows of a supplier for either here in Canada?

many thanks
Dean

"...Plainsfield..." Plainfield, no 's'. Milsurp parts and accessories will fit on a Planfield. Had mine for 30 some years. Never had any issues a bath didn't fix.
Doubt you'll find much in the way of aftermarket Carbine stuff these days. Not enough market.
Why would you want a scope on a Carbine? I wouldn't spend a cent on aftermarket Carbine stuff. They're restricted rifles. You can't do much of anything with 'em. Scoping one buggers the balance.
However, if you insist, Epp's is a Ramline dealer. Choate makes a pistol gripped stock. "email us at ccmmtt@ipa.net put you in contact with our international sales agent."

LOL, I guess I deserved that one. Many thanks for the correction.

I think the simple answer is why not. The carbine is used mostly by my wife when she comes to the range with me. I figure I would put a red dot on it and get her thinking 3-gun match..The synthetic stock is to prevent the wood stock from taking a beating should I convince her..lol...

Thanks for the help

"...carbine is used mostly by my wife when..." How are you getting the ATT? Rumour has it that ATT's for restricted rifles are not being issued.
"...why not..." Buggers up the balance. An Aimpoint wouldn't be too bad, weight wise, but carbines don't balance well with a scope. Won't make it shoot any better either.
Had 5 thou removed from either side of the front sight on mine after not being able to see bowling pins at Second Chance, long ago. Should have used my handloads instead of the milsurp ball I bought. Of course, poverty set in and never got the chance to see it it made any difference before the rectal orifi came up with this permit nonsense. Shoots extremely well with Speer 110 grain HP's and IMR4227. 13.5 to 15.0(compressed). Mine likes 14.5 grains. Makes a fabulous BARK! sound too. The 110 grain HP blows a hole the size of a grapefruit in a ground hog. Had more fun hunting with my Plainfield and its iron sights than any other rifle.

ATTs do not appear to be a problem. In fact, I just had a new ATT issued on July 10th and the Plainfield and an Armalite are on the permit.

This is the first time I have heard that ATTs were not being issued for restricted rifles. Lots of ARs out there. Hope it is not a sign of things to come.

If you mean "getting the ATT", that depends on your province. People in Ontario and especially Quebec are taking weeks or, in some cases, even months to get an ATT.

Really, though... Why would you need to ask permission to take your gun to and from the range/gunsmith/etc? It's not like the gangbangers apply for ATT's to bring their foh-tay's to the club or for a drive-by.

:welcome:

Does the rail & scope in the pic look like it might meet your wife's needs?

WTF?? - You're kidding, right? Why not transport it on your long term att like every other restricted. Oh, you live in one of the "gun free socialist workers paradises at the centre of the universe" sucks, eh?
