i was curious how hard it is to find the m1 carbine with the paratrooper metal stock? how much if you do find one? anybody make an aftermarket replica stock of the paratrooper model?

thanks

There are lots of 'fake' para stocks. Mostly Stateside though. There weren't many para carbines made to begin with and those, real ones, that are around command long dollars. Finding one would be a matter of being in the right place at the right time with a fistful of money.

You are about 2 decades too late to easily find paratroop folding stocks for carbines.

With today's emphasis on USGI cherry collecting vs redneck blaster shooting, you'll probably find a really good repro' of the M1A1 (?) folder than you will find a simple utility folder.

Try www.sarcoinc.com ,and then M1A1 in the search window. They are listing them for $179.00 each (plus $20 export fee+ shipping ) if they still sell outside of USA. This is a very high quality repro (made in Italy) of the "M2A1" stock, has 4 rivet handguard, and selector slot cut into it. Best you can get for a repro. Also best to replace the handguard with USGI, as the repro is a thicker, unlike original USGI.

Originals have 2 rivet handguard, and no cut for selector.

I saw 3 regular carbines at the Montreal gunshow yesterday. I saw a deactivated M1A1 last time. Someone bought it to put the stock on his own M1. 350$. Those are rare and go for alot.

Damn! Still would be restricted with an 18" barrel.
A M1A1 would still be restricted even with a 19" barrel. Because of the folding stock, you need a 19-1/4" barrel to meet the required overall length to have one as non-restricted.
I've shown this photo in another thread recently, but heres my M1A1 with a rifled barrel extension that was put on to try and de-restrict the rifle. The CFC/RCMP techs didn't buy into it, so restricted it is.

got an email from auto-ordnance, apparently they are going to be releasing a paratrooper model later this year. anybody in Canada carry their stuff?

I think Questar could probably help import it for you as that's their thing.

I would really like a M1 Carbine, If I could get a Synthetic black stock like the orginal. All I can find is crazy folders.

And Seriosuly the Government needs to De-restrict this as well.
