M1 garand barrel?

Yesterday I was at a gun show in Edmonton Alberta, and got yaking with an old fella about M1 Garands. He said he had a some parts for one and wanted to get rid of them. Long story short, he gave me a barrel, op rod, complete bolt etc. The barrel is marked LMR D6535448 4 53 A11 Pm, also a stamp which almost looks like a ships steering wheel. It measures 19 inches long from the muzzle to the end of the threads that go into the receiver. It will thread into the M1 receiver. Is this a Tanker version? Regular barrel should be 24 inches long right. Also the op rod measures 18 9/16 inches. What does the M1 op rod in 30/06 configuration measure for length? Any help is appreciated. I can text pics to someone who would put them up for me.

The thing with tankers is over the years many different gunsmiths and companies made them. Some were not that good, some are just fine. You'll want to do a bit more research.
 
Lmr made barrels for HRA & IH contracted garands. Yours being a 53 dated one it's been cut down. The experimental m1e5 and t26 prototypes were abandoned in 44/45. Thing about tankers is there almost all bubba'd. There may be some experimental prototype rifles still out there but chances of a regular joe having one are nil. Out of the 4 government contracted manufactures none made a production tanker for use by troops. SA made one t26 and it was destroyed during testing. There were 150 shortened m1's made some where in the pacific, two were flown to the US to be examined, one is in the west point museum the other at the Springfield armoury museum. Chances of actually having a M1E5 or T26 are slim to none. Almost all tanker variants out there are clones and gunsmith specials.
