M1 Garand Bolt Problem

I have a Danish Garand and I have noticed when the bolt is locked to the rear it moves backwards and forwards slightly. Is this cause for concern? What can be done to fix it?

you mean when the action is open? my bolt rattles like that also,this is normal.

Yes that is what I mean. When I am going to put an enbloc clip in the bolt rattles a little bit. I was concerned because I have handled another Garand that did not have the same issue.

i have 4 Garands,some of them rattle. i have owned them over 15 years and never had a problem.

"...cause for concern?..." Nope. There may be a bit of wear on some parts, but if the rifle works, don't fix it.

I took it to the range today and it worked flawlessly.

Mine feels loose too. I know some parts on mine are getting worn to the point of needing to be replaced, but it still works 9/10 if handled properly.
