M1 Garand IH made Restoration

Hello all I have just found a International Harvester made M1-garand i have been looking for, for about 2 years. Its all original IHC with the LMR barrel. what I would like to know is what was / is the proper finish for the metal on this rifle? will post pics of b4 and after the restoration. Thanks Andrew

I believe parkerizing it with a manganese solution would be the proper finsih for the rifle.
