what do you guys think of this sight? doesnt involve any modifications of the reciever. i am thinking of buying it for my m1 garand ;)

Get yourself an M14.ca M1Garand CASM or RD mount and put whatever sight on you want!

i will likely get the RD mount, dont like the casm mount due to the requirement of putting in a sled device that will take away that famous PING.

where can i find cheap red dot sights? any good deals? ( i dont want to spend more then 100-150$)

Look up aliexpress com. These are prodominantly knock offs, can't speak for quality but they are dirt cheap. There are even Elcan and Acog knock offs.

Get a bushnell trs-25 micro red dot. They're around $120. The best micro red dot you can get in that price range. I have three and really like them. A lot of site sponsors have them. Your local gunstores, cabelas or maybe bass pro shop

this one looks good i might just get that one :D, it should be compatible with the M14.ca M1 garand RD mount. how would i zero the red dot? and can it work with the front sight as well?

Good choice, the TRS-25 is solid. It attaches to any picatinny rail with supplied Allen wrench. Sighting in is the same as a scope. The front sight only affects it if it blocks your sight picture but that will not happen with this mount.

If you're like me, don't buy one, get two or three. You'll want to put them on lots of things. 10/22, Shotgun, AR, SKS, M14...

im doing some research on red dot sights, i have re zero if i have to go up in range in small amounts? my idea was to use a red dot sight with the front sight aka " co witness sighting" that way i have greater vision instead of the peep sight. My concern is that i have to re zero if want to switch from shooting 50 yards or 100 yards etc. the most i would be shooting is 100 yards maybe even 200. also i just noticed there is a trs-32 .. is there a big difference between the two?

You can't co witness without a rear sight. You have to remove the rear sight to install the mount. Just zero your red dot for 100 yards and then try at 200 and see where it hits. It'll give you an idea what to hold over. It will still be really close at closer ranges. If you think all your shots will be under a 100 then zero at 75. I zero a some of my rifles at 75 or less. The woods around here are so dense that my longest shot hunting would be max 100 yards. But most would be in the 50 range.
I've never tried the trs-32. But the trs-25 is excellent quality for the price. It's pretty tough. If I was you and I wasn't worried about loading with strippers I'd get the casm mount and not the RD mount. That way if you decide to scope you rifle you'll already have the mount. Also a red dot works much better further away from your eyes. I'd get casm then mount red dot as far ahead on mount as possible. Don't forget to use BOTH eyes open. Don't fix vision on sight. Fix sight on target. Look thru it like glasses. Like it's not even there. Just concentrate on target.

**Edit** just re-read your original post. Your installing on garand. You may want to use the RD mount then. Sorry

You could put the Wartak Sks rail on your yugo with doing any mods that couldn't easily be reversed. All you have to do is remove the rear site. It's easy. No permanent mods. There's also the BC tactical Sks mount which is short and still leaves room to use stripper clips. That also just replaces rear site.

i want to be able to load with the enbloc clips and hear that ping when it gets ejected. i have no interest in mounting a full sized scope on this rifle. ( i am left handed ,left eye dominant so the m1d scope wont work for me). i will try and see how i feel shooting the rifle with the factory iron sights, if i dont feel comfortable with it i will order the mount from m14.ca and get that trs-25 or 32.

Lol. I re-read your original post and noticed that you were using it on a garand. Edited my post but you beat me too it. Lol. Sorry.

Yeah I'm sure the RD mount from M14.ca is a quality mount. I don't have one but I do have a few parts from M14.ca/T97.ca and they are excellent quality! Once you try the red dot you'll want em on all your guns. Lol. Both eyes open is so much better

got some free cash and now coming back to this idea... does anyone have a m14.ca rd mount that they are using on their m1a/ garands ? im not really digging the peep site anymore :p sail has some cheap sights at 50-90 $

The Bushnell TRS-25 micro red dot has a 3 MOA dot. That'll completely cover the black of a standard 100 yard target.
A Burris Fastfire III can have an 8 MOA dot. That'll nearly cover the whole target.
The stripper clip guide turns up a wee bit above the receiver.
