i'm new to the m1 garand but as soon as i heard the *PING!* noise it makes i fell in love. i was wondering, how much would one cost to buy, how much does the clip hold, and how hard are they to find? thanks
 
"...how much would one cost..." Depends on condition, but figure around $700 to $800. Finding one in decent condition may be an issue. There's a lot of junk out there that guys are asking the same kind of money too.
"...the clip..." Eight. Specifically exempt from the silly mag capacity rule. Marstar wants $1.75 each and show 'em in stock.
Buy a copy of Hatcher's Notebook and Hatcher's Book of the Garand. About $30 each and worth every cent. Your local gun shop or Amazon.
