I'm interested in building one of the parts kit M1 Garands from AA or TNA using the TNA 3 pack breda receivers. Just wondering if anyone else has done so and how difficult it was to headspace and match all parts.

Head space ... at this point in time trying to use a used barrel is a waist of time
so you need a new barrel = a reamer to cut head space = done right= headspace is good

so you need a barrel and a reamer

match Parts ? or do you mean fit parts ? some times you have to mix and match parts for the m1 to work right, and some times you get lucky and no playing around has to be done

Who are TNA and AA?

The investment in tools and gauges aren't worth it for a one-time project. You will need a receiver wrench, a barrel vice, a finishing reamer and a set of headspace gauges. A barrel alignment fixture is also needed, but this can be improvised.

Quality parts are hard to find, although the Breda/Beretta receivers can be assumed to be serviceable.Start with information from authoritative sources. The Kuhnhausen Shop manual on the M1/M14 is the bible, and "The M1 Garand Complete Assembly Guide" by Walt Kuleck are useful sources.

Assembly good parts and wood
Get a experienced Garand builder to build it
good parts are getting hard to find everyone is trying to do it in America that is where the parts come from for canadians
so it isnt an easy job

Thanks for steering me down the right track. The tools and time investment aren't a worry. Girlfriend and I are both interested in gunsmithing as a side job so all aspects will be explored at some point.

If you have the necessary tools (mentioned above) it is a pretty easy and fun build. Just take your time and enjoy the process
