Hi, guys relatively new to the forum. This is my first post. Would like feedback on price of M1 Garand in Fair condition. Assume numbers matching, but haven't been able to check it that closely. Also how many parts serial numbered? Any help will be appreciated. Just like to add that it is great to see a Canadian site like this. Thanks FWM

i would expect the pricing to be around 500 depending on how the fair rating is being given.

i wouldn't expect the s/n's to be matching as these are older rifles that have more than likely been refurbished at some time in its life.many of the garands that were available a few years ago for example were from the danes[danish].they refurbished them for their arsenal and later were released for sale.

mine is one of these examples with mismatched numbers, but its a great shooter.i have also replaced the op rod on mine.keep in mind the op rod gets alot of abuse if youre using heavier bullets and or the wrong powder.150 grain bullet or less is best to keep it happy.:D

"...how many parts serial numbered..." Only the receiver has a S/N. All other numbers on M-1 parts are drawing numbers and have no relation to the S/N.
'Matching numbers' in an M-1 means the parts were made by the same maker as the receiver. Very few of these exist.
If you see an M-1 with matching parts, it's likely the result of somebody with too much time and money on their hands, searching high and low to find them.
If you see one with part numbers that match the S/N, it's been faked by somebody who doesn't know any better.

Thanks for the info. Now I have an better idea of what I'm looking at and more importantly what its worth. Thanks Frank
