M1 Garand question

What length should the 30-06 op rod be? I bought one off the EE that’s in 7.62 with an extension however I see no signs of it being extended. I know the Italian ones are 1/2 inch shorter but shorter than what? Mines measured 23 inches end to end.

Found my answer else where however for anyone else who may be looking a standard op rod is 23.5 inches long.

your will have the 7.62/2 on the side thats the 308 conversion rod.
