M1 Garand rifle scabbard

Not really sure where to put this thread since i cant find any threads like it.

So i finally got a vintage Garand rifle scabbard but the leather is rock hard.
Anyone know How to make it supple again. It sounds like wood when you tap on it. I dont want to break it since its still intact.

I had the same question about a year ago, but mine was about a sling, I used Mik oil and Vasoline. The Sling is very soft and a lot more plyable now, it'll actually droop and not stay stiff on the rifle.

Saddle soap or Pecard's leather dressing(intended to preserve and condition old leather).

DO NOT USE MINK OIL!!!
Use NOTHING with petroleum distillates.

Pecard's is probably the best thing, also all natural dubbin an neatsfoot have both been used by some with reported success.
