Hello All,

I just want to send a big thank you out to Barney (Hungry, Tactical Teacher) for hosting an excellent and super informative M1 and M14 Clinic in Petawawa. Also a big thanks to Morgan (Chalkriver) for providing the tables and bench vise's as they were well used in all 5 barrel changes and swaps done as well as finish reaming that was done. It was only a one day clinic but it was definitely worth the drive as lots of fun was had as well as just being able to pick Barney's brain on any info that came up. It was a smaller class but that was just fine as I had an opportunity to meet a few fellow M1/M14 enthusiasts. I was able to do everything I needed done as well as lapping a bolt that now nice and tight. These clinics are well worth it in my opinion, for the knowledge and tips and tricks that can be gained at the clinics, stuff you may not be able to pick up on youtube or read here on the forum, as well as hear lots of good stories and being able to snap up a few goodies. And just to hear Barney tell some crazy stories is always worth it (GO LEAFS GO!). I have not been to any of the CQB or Sniper clinics but I will definitely make the effort to attend those in the upcoming year as I hear they are always good times.

If you have the chance to make it to a clinic I highly suggest you go you will not regret it!

Thanks Again to all who came.

hey, a big shout out to Chalkriver (big M, small organ) for organizing such a great man-cave venue for our impromptu classroom and tables. We had a small group but we got 5 barrel installations done and THREE chambers finish reamed! 2 x .30-6 and 1 x .308 winnie. Life is good. :D

It's so much more fun to work on rifles and rifle parts that are ALL within spec. No nasty surprises here.... ever pull your Norinco Trigger Group apart and then try to get it back together after watching all Them Youtube videos? Now you understand what I mean when we accuse Norc trigger groups of being "out of spec".

Big thanks for all of you who drove a long way back home in the dark (read: running deer across the highway). It was worth the 5 hour drive for me to tell that "Go Leafs Go" story from my antics in Amsterdam.

Hey, maybe I should start a thread in the Off Topics Forum about: Dumb Amsterdam Antics :D

Cheers and thanks for allowing me to be of service

Thanks to Barney for another great clinic and to Morgan for being an awesome host.
I finally got to install and finish ream my new Criterion barrel.

It's amazing the things you learn just by comparing different rifles side by side.

A good example was racking Morgans' Garand and noticing that the op-rod spring didn't feel right.
Upon comparing it to others it was found to have been cut.

I should be getting back into town later tonight and I may go try testing it out.
