M1 stock question.

i bought a replacement stock for my M1 Garand. fit nicely but when i took it out to fire,the trigger guard would unhook . every round i fired it would do this. i put back the original stock,and it did not do this when fired. would anyone know what causes this,and perhaps know how to remedy it? thanks.

Did you feel any resistance on installing the trigger housing when you closed the trigger guard? If not, there's your problem. You might be able to insert a shim to get the necessary tension.
