M10 Ross Question.

Stripping an M10 Ross.

Having a dickens of a time trying to remove the ejector from the left side of the receiver...

Were these even made to come out??

Any help is appreciated!

At least on the 1905, there is a little pin that taps out. I've never tried on a 1910 but I'd think it's the same...look in the grunge above and below the ejector for a little retaining pin.

Oh yes... I should have mentioned...

I tried for over an hour pulling on that pin, rotating it, moving the ejector to every position possible and pulling/rotating the pin, etc... still can't get it out...

Perhaps they are pressed in??

Okay, so you found the pin. You need a pin punch slightly smaller than the pin's diameter and you'll need to tap it out. I don't know up or down.

I put the receiver in a vise. grabbed a set of strong wire cutters (so that I could lock onto the grove of the retaining pin) and used some serious leverage to get her out!

The pin finally came out... in two pieces...

Luckily, it was just from my parts M10...

BTW: The pin on the M10 cannot be punched out, it can only be pulled out.

What a fun project! My Sporterized Ross is looking more evil every day now! I can use stripper clips to charge it now! Woohoo!!

Now.... What to do with the stripped (deactivated) receiver??

Pen holder? Pencil Sharpener? Filing Cabinet????

Ideas??
