M10x vs type 81

The T81 is one of those guns that people will digging up a hundred years and shoot. They are built tough, and are completely different than civilian offerings, so you just cannot compare them.

Using a 7.62x39 is completely different then shooting a flatter shooting 5.56, but at least these two shoot the same round.

If I had a T81 I would drop the big bucks on a expensive parts kit and just move. All these North American gun makers that are producing semis will be out of business thanks to the Leftists in a couple of years, so support and parts will disappear.....

The T81 will be like the SKS and will stand the test of time!

M10x is pure garbage

T81 is an overpriced polytech rifle... Just get an SKS...

My humble opinion.

From what I have read in several places the M10x does not function well or at all with surplus ammo. What is the point of buying a 7.62x39rifle and not shooting the steel core ammo? Type 81 is great but people are expecting stupid prices for them. Shocking that people don't want to over pay for stuff.....

Unless some one wants a reasonable price for a type 81, I think I am going to stick to my good ole reliable SKS in its original form

The SKS is a given, every person should have one and a couple of spam cans. :)

Remember when SKS's were less than 200.00, and spam cans (2) were $250.00. :)

Unfortunately the darn SKS is climbing too sure glad i got one when they were still reasonable and the t81 the only place to buy them is from dealer and save the crazy person tax that's added once the box is open hahaha have not shot the M10X but have owned the t81 and now the LMG and have never had a problem with them and there a lot more accurate then the SKS instead of minute of man these are minute of little man haha

My sentiments as well. Both are junky and neither particularly accurate. But, there is a huge market for junk it seems. None of my SKS's shot over 4MOA, and some are better.

Can't believe some people here are saying an sks is better than either the type 81 or the m10x.
I have all 3.
Sks would be my last choice if I had to grab one out of the safe for any reason.

I sure do remember. Summer of 2012 with the registry recently thrown out and fresh out of the military training. I walked into milarms with $550 and walked out with a Laminate stock Russian and a case of 1200 czech ammo on clips.

some common sense enters the debate and I agree.
I haven't handled an M10x but I got to shoot a type 81 LMG the other day.
It's a fun rifle and ran flawlessly with czech and chinese surplus. Accuracy wasn't stellar but was hitting an 8" plate every shot at 100meters.
The SKS-D rifles on hand also had no issues functionally and accuracy was the same as far as hitting that plate at 100 yards.
The LMG was heavier obviously and was fun to shoot but didn't make me want to sell my D rifles to jump on the T81 train.
I do see why the T81's have been selling out though as they do seem to be a well made firearm.

Actually that's a lie.... if I needed one to throw in a boat to let it sit there and get beat up and rust it would be the sks.

By semi auto 7.62x39 reliability standards. Its pretty hard to improve on the Type 81SA. Both of mine havent jammed yet. Fed them everything ....surplus, commercial ....FMJs, HP, SP and polymer tipped rounds. The only complication ive come across so far is that one or 2 of the 10 Type 81SA mags i have dont reliably lock the bolt back on the last round. My best guess is that the mag is mis manufactured and the follower simply doesnt lift high enough.

People who say the Type 81sa's are basically an expensive SKS are really no different then kids at their first recorder lesson = Just making mindless noise that nobody else wants to hear.

I will say that after getting to shoot the t81 LMG ........ if it came in 7.62x54R with a decent scope mount availlable aftermarket...... oh boy would I buy one in a heartbeat

I had an M10X for a few months. It was an utter POS. I was interested in a type 81 but they are sold out now and I don't want the LMG model. For now I am back to my sks's for fun with the 7.62x39. I do have a real shooter of an sks though. My 1950 tula sks with barnul 125 grain softpoints will consistiently shoot 3/4- 1 inch @ 100 yards if I do my part.
