M127 Kriger, a new tactical shotgun prototype from Asgard Defense

A brief description from their Instagram:

asgard_defense

The M127 Kriger is chambered in 2 3/4” & 3” 12 gauge. This compact, reliable shotgun is tube-fed and utilizes a short stroke external dual-piston gas operation system.

The system features removable nozzles and pistons machined from 416 stainless steel, to allow for easy cleaning and inspection.

The pistons are held in place by captured springs, to insure that they are in battery for optimal function and do not produce any unwanted noise, as you move.

It basically looks like they are trying to produce a modernized Benelli M4.

They offered a somewhat similar conversion mod for the M4 a few years ago, however now that I believe the M4's patent has expired they might have figured it was best to produce their own, hopefully improved model?

Anyways, I shot them an email asking for more info and asking why they didn't put the shell release on the left side? They replied;

Hello,

That's a good question. It never occurred to me. The bolt release is tied in directly to the shell stop and the shell release lever and I suppose if it didn't compromise the travel of the cartridge as it transitions to the chamber (such as a slot or channel that would catch the cartridge rim) it could work. The other consideration would be if it would complicate take down. I'm going to look at the solid model and see if there is enough real estate .

Thanks,
Jeff

Stay tuned.
