If you or anyone needs a 22" Criterion barrel (not chrome-lined chamber), then Doug at Ellwood Epps (board sponsor) is your source. I know/realize/understand that the OP (Original Poster fellow) is looking for an 18.5" barrel, but for the rest of you kind readers, if you need a 22" barrel, then they are available at Epps.
I just spoke to Doug (Epps) this morning and he says he still has some there. And also some FAT NM M14 hardwood stocks for your NM build project. These have a FATTER profile than the Norinco-Plinko black plastic stock by at least another 1/4" all around... Did I say Fzcking FAT Bastards? Lots of freaking meat for you to work with.
Now about them Criterion Barrels in 22" NON-Chrome lined....you must fit the chamber and bolt using a pull through reamer in .308 caliber. They all come from the factory about 10 thousandths short of a 1.630" chamber. A pull through reamer stops cutting once the bolt closes on the GO gauge of 1.630", tight chamber (read: prone to slam fires if you are not loading from a magazine tension like a douche-bag) Never let the bolt SLAM home on a cartridge loosely sitting inside the chamber... use the magazine or clip (Garand) with these floating firing pins....
NOW... yer #### WILL fall off!
Cheers and warm regards,
Barney
