M14 Brass trajectory

On the Norinco M305, the ejector spring is a little longer than USGI. This ejects your brass more violently and usually pounds it off your receiver or scope mount. The cure is either replacing the spring with a USGI one or clipping a coil or two off of the Nork ejector spring. I should note that this works for the majority of these rifles but there are a few rifles that the brass will contact something while ejecting no matter what you do.
