WOW!!

Well guys, Just went to a clinic with Hungry at The Shooting Edge in Calgary. It was amazing!

There were only 3 of us on this one and fun was definitely had by all. Hungry is an amazing teacher. He is a wealth of knowledge and his enthusiasm for this platform is fantastic. Anyone who has ever been on the fence about going to one of these, do yourself a favour...just GO! You will not regret it.

I am not new to shooting or firearms. But I am new to the M14. I do not have mad skills with tools or machinery. Actually, I consider myself a complete rookie with tweaking and fixing things. It often turns into a nightmare.

I was nervous about going to the class because I am just not confident with these kinds of things. In this instance, we started at the top and worked our way through the entire platform turning them all into really awesome rifles. I am now really confident with the knowledge that I gained with the M14. Now that I know how to 'tweak' one of these rifles, I am confident enough to tear one down from the top and put it back together running WAY better than fresh out of the box!!!! its sooooo awesome!

For anyone considering being on one of these...for anyone considering this amazing rifle...I highly recommend that you go!

it was fantastic. A big thanks to Hungry!!! Thanks so much for passing on this knowledge! Also would definitely like to thank Justin and the rest of the staff at the Shooting Edge. This only helps to build the community all the more.

If any of you have questions fire away! Good times and totally lovin it!!

Yes, we had a great time. Many questions were answered and much tinkering was done. Procedures that would take thousands of words to explain were demonstrated in a very short time. Anybody with an M-14 rifle who _doesn't_ attend one of Hungry's clinics should just sell it...they can't really be interested in the gun. [joke, sorta].

Huge thanks to Barney...

We're gonna have a blast in Fort Mac next weekend, goona be good!!!

..........And there's still room if your interested.......:D

..........Only 4 hours from Edmonton........Free accommodation.......

I do have to say that it was truly a pleasure having a barreled Krieger Norc M14 receiver at the clinic to work on and then demonstrate. You three got that odd chance to see one put together and then accurized after the barrel was indexed and chambered by me a few months ago. Now we installed the NM gas system and hand selected (at least three tries) a gas cylinder lock that had to be 180'd a few times in order to get that 5 o'clock tension and rubber mallet to 6 o'clock. :D

Thanks for all the kind words. This is truly a great community inside a great forum/board. :D

Get ready for the Fort Mac clinic. You see it's a TWO day venture with a day of shooting on Sunday. The BC M14Doctor / Ingram Custom Rifleworks clinic was truly epic experience as the clinic lovers will tell you.... that's just a preview of that is in store for you on Sunday.

"Get off my LAWN!!" Need I say more?

As much as I love the single day clinics, they don't do justice to the Shorty M14 platform. And with that in mind and 5 clinics done in the past 3 weeks for me.... I'm planning a shooting camp in Long View next summer! M14 rifle owners... get ready! :D That's all I'm gonna say. I've got a long drive back home after the Dundurn, SK clinic to hammer out the details.

You guys out in BC and AB are just fabulous. I love ya all (that sound right?)

Cheers,
Barney

Truly a great day!!. I was one of the lucky 3 today and it was an experience not to be missed. Barney thank you again for all that you did and the teaching was top notch. Thanks to Redrab for bringing in your "project" rifle and it was a pleasure to help you work on it, and to do it all under the guidance of an M14 guru.

I hope to be lucky enough to attend Barneys gathering next year, it would be quite and honor.

It's been said/posted many times here and elsewhere but anyone that has toyed with the idea of going to even the one day clinic, let alone a multiday course, should not hesitate. Well worth the time spent in every way.

Thank you again Barney, and safe travels.
