Any thoughts on this ?

The manufacturer advises them as:
Designed specifically for M14/M1A stocks that have a pistol grip. The V2 EBR trigger shoe is also an excellent upgrade for the Rogue and SRSS bullpup chassis stocks. The all steel, M14HDW.US V2 EBR trigger shoe is made with the correct angle required to direct the trigger pull straight back to the rear. This item will benefit any M14 with pistol grip. The V2 EBR shoe is wider and longer than a stock M-14 trigger - no more stabbing your finger tip. CRANE NSWC is using the identical V2 EBR trigger shoe on their MK14 Mod 2.

I have owned,shot, and built many M14 type rifles over the last 20 years and I never had any issue with the USGI triggers.........;)

For $65.00 I'd pass...............

Thx! I was thinking the same thing as it appears it is fabricated to "rectify" an alleged condition/ problem that does not seem to exist, at least in my mind. Sounds like VooDoo to me :p
 
These are for pistol grip stocks, not for standard stocks and according to a fast growing number of american m14 owners with sage, troy, vltor ect, pistol grip stocks, this little unit is the cats @ss.
Check out the american boards, you'll find lot's of user feedback.

I know exactly what it is for..............I have owned all sorts of stocks, with and without pistol grips........... including one of the first Sage EBR chassis to come into Canada............still never had an issue with the USGI trigger or how it pulled.


Whether it's the Cats A$$.......Left nut.......etc, I still don't see a need for it...............;)
 
I just read up on it a little more, and the reviewers seem to rave on about it as if it were just magical - no different than any firearm accessory review I've read in the past. It appears it has primarily two advantages,

1. The trigger contact patch is wider than the stock trigger so it distributes pressure more evenly. This is supposed to reduce the amount of "felt" pressure on the trigger.
2. The angle of the trigger is now changed so that now the trigger travels straight back rather than back and up.

I'm still skeptical as it seems to be more advantageous for improving the trigger feel in the Roue Bullpup and am having a hard time envisioning how it would help in the SAGE. Going to make a model out of scrap metal I have lying around and stick it on my trigger to test out this "theory".

Also depends on what application that your rifle is being used for. CQB style dictaits that you use the tip of your finger tip for quick accurate shot's. This is were I do believe that this addition complements this rifle as the skinny trigger on the M14 platform is more designed for a riflemans rifle meaning long smooth trigger pulls using the first groove of the index finger in a squeazing motion. Also our Southern Brothers have a specail league dedicated to 308 and up full siezed caliber's. It's called Heavy Metal and in this world speed and accuracy rules. Although long range shots are not the norm. This is were this product accells. My only gripe is that there is no seration on the pad & as everyone knows when it's hot out and your under stress the sweet comes out. Plus the recoil from the rifle doesn't help me when I am tring to ride the trigger for quick follow up shots. Ah well that was the case tell I showed it to Mr. Dremil and gave it some serrations of my own.

You seem offended by my post or something? No one is questioning your "been there done that" with the M14. And quite frankly, I completely agree with your thoughts and comments on the need for a trigger shoe. I simply stated that guys in the states were raving about it, so a good place to look for user comments is stateside.
I've never owned one and unless someone sends me one for free, I have no plans of aquiring one. :D

Satain: Good points! The potential advantages during CBQ style shooting had not occurred to me as I was basing my rationale simply on long distance target shooting. Interesting idea on adding serrations - tactically sound I'd say :p What are your thoughts on the Trigger Shoe performing for old fashioned target shooting ?

Then you don't understand what the V2 EBR shoe is designed to do.

It's actually the exact opposite. It does 'tighten' up the feel of the Rogue's trigger, but it really shines on the SAGE, TROY and other pistol gripped M14 stocks.

The V2 EBR trigger shoe is not designed for use with a traditional stock, but it's a great improvement to any M14 that utilizes a pistol grip stock for CQB, Precision and any other type of shooting.

Rule 18 No "hotlinking" email/website info or posting of phone numbers for businesses who do not support the operation of CGN.

You may be interested in the official back story on the steel V2 EBR shoe.


Mike Peterson (TACOM-RI) met Tom Meyers (X-TremeShooting) at Camp Perry in 2010. Tom’s business is custom CNC machine work, the manufacture of precision triggers and receivers... Mike: "talk naturally turned to the issues we were having with pull angle on the SAGE EBR stocks equipped with pistol grips".

Mike: "I gave Tom an M14 trigger group to experiment with and see what he could come up with. He produced the prototypes in aluminum which worked well except they were a little too flexible for our needs... I got Dave Armstrong from NSWC Crane interested as he had been experimenting with commercial trigger shoes for the MK14 Mod 2 project".

Mike: "We at TACOM-RI were pretty much up to our ears in trying to complete the SAGE stocks, add accessories and complete the provisioning process to get repair parts into the system as well as finish up the production of the 6200 M14EBR-RIs, so the trigger shoe project kind of languished".


Mike and Dave told me about Tom and the trigger shoe project when we met at shot 2011, they both suggested that I contact Tom - I did and the rest is history.

Also, per an agreement between Tom and myself: the V2 EBR trigger shoe is available exclusively from me, Kevin Young, owner of M14HDW.US
