M14 fix

I just did mine, doesnt hurt to get the industrial sized tubes. They're almost toothpaste sized. I used my 2 little tubes on just the selector switch alone, had to get more for the front cutout. I wasnt very conservative with it though.

I actually used 'gas tank repair putty'. It's workable for about 5 minutes, and hardens up just as well as JBWeld.

I prefer it due to the ease of cleanup and lack of 'goopy flowiosity'.

I just followed SKBY's how to and built up dams on either side, except I used duct tape as the dam. It will drizzle in, more or less btu it does harden up pretty quickly. I used it to fill the selector cutout, the retaining pin mod and built up the front of the stock near the weephole using the two little tubes. I used two more little tubes when I chopped the stock and grafted an M4 stock onto it.

Thanks guys... Didn't even wait for the answers and just poured the contents of the tubes in the dam... Starting to polymerize but this stuff takes a while... They say 6 hours to cure and another 6 hours to dry...

Can't wait to paint it..

By the way how do you guys install a harris bipod on a USGI stock ? What adapter ? Where do you need to drill ? etc

Thanks

I used a Harris AR-15 adapter (no.15? no.5? something like that), and inletted it into the stock, behind the weephole. I epoxied it into place, and now it's rock solid.

Just make sure you inlet it enough so that it doesn't interfere with the op-rod.

if you want the speed, try the 5 minute coldweld- it's at tire- as far as the bipod goes, i took out a rivet and put in a t-nut and sling swivel stud
