We've added a new instructional video tutorial to the "The Screening Room" (click here)http://www.milsurps.com/forumdisplay.php?f=46, starring Hungry and Skullboy. :D

M14 Instructional Clinic (2 Days)
Conducted by Skullboy and Hungry
Abbottsford B.C. - October, 2004

Note: To make it easy for non computer literate users, we've taken two approaches to providing the video of this seminar.

First, this video seminar may viewed in real time while on-line, broken into small FLV (flash video) files of approximately 10 minute segments, in order to accommodate low bandwidth dial-up Internet users.

Second, we've re-edited those smaller into longer WMV file formats for playing (or saving) using streaming video with Microsoft’s Windows Media Player, which comes with every version of Windows. If you have an Apple computer, you can obtain the FREE Flip4Mac WMV Player Add-on (click here)http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx, which will set up your Apple QuickTime player to play the Windows WMV file formats.

The latter approach has the added benefit of permitting users to download the seminar into their local hard disk for later viewing and archive referencing.

If you aren't a member you have to join, however, you can register for FREE..... Sorry, but if we don't have people register with legitimate email addresses, we get plastered with posts from spammers selling on-line prescription drugs and advertising ####ography sites.

As a CGN Contributing Dealer (click here)http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=212931, we hope that members of the "Main Battle Rifles" forum find the seminar useful.

Badger

whats up with this? i get redirected to another website, then i can't even view the video after i register?

Well, first of all, the video series of the M14 Instructional Clinic (2 Days) is stored in the Milsurps Knowledge Library which is a separate web site, simply because the video files are huge and there's no internal storage for them here on CGN and we've volunteered to provide real time hosting for them. If you aren't a member you have to join, however, you can register for FREE..... Sorry, but if we don't have people register with legitimate email addresses, we get plastered with posts from spammers sellling on-line presciption drugs and advertising ####ography sites.

Second, the problem with your not being able to access them after you completed the first part of the registration is due to the fact that you've not acknowledged and confirmed your email address. To have full access to ALL forums, simply read the email that was sent to the email address you registered under. This is how the system validates legitimate email addresses. Click the link within that email to validate your registration and you'll automatically be converted to a Registered User and have full access to everything.

It's exactly the same process you used to join CGN, although due to spammers, I don't think CGN allows free Hotmail email addresses for registration any longer, which is what I notice you want to register at Milsurps.Com with.

If you read this thread (click here)http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=918, you'll probably find your problem, which is most likely due to your free Microsoft Hotmail account putting the validation email required into your "spam" bin.

Finally, you'll notice a clear message at the top of every page which is displayed to all members like yourself, who have not fully completed the registration process through email validation.

It says:

Your Military Surplus Collectors Forums account has not been confirmed by return email and therefore is not yet active

To become a Registered member of MILSURPS.COM (required for accessing most site functions) you will need to verify your email address, by clicking a special link sent to you in our original welcome email. If you have lost that email, or it never arrived, please Click Herehttp://www.milsurps.com/register.php?do=requestemail&email= to request another activation email be sent to you. If you still can't locate it check your SPAM box, as some email providers deposit emails there. If you suspect the email address you originally provided was wrong, please Click Here http://www.milsurps.com/sendmessage.phpand fill out the form, so an administrator can fix your account. Also please be sure to disable any SPAM filters you may have for our website, so that this and all future messages can reach you.

We apologize for any inconvenience. :)

Hope this helps.... ;)

Badger

Hi there, was wondering if you could hold a m14 clinic in Sask. I see there is one coming up in Man. , is kinda far from here.
thanks

Hungry here: Here's the challenge for you (and other potential pointmen).. I need a classroom or clubhouse at a gun club. Then I need someone like yourself to organize the heat, hydro 220V feed for welding, etc, etc... Then when we find the physical site, I gotta look at my shooting calendar to see which weekend I can give up. Right now I'm sacrificing 1 weekend a month to share the M14 love. So that's what is involved in organizing a potential M14 clinic near you!
