Anyone have pics of a M14/M14S with a bayonet mounted,I have never seen one.I have a Garand with a Bayonet and there is no way I can see to mount it on the M14.I was just wondering what it would look like.In fact I have never seen any listed for sale either.need a picture or two.

the norinco flash hider lacks the bayonet lug necessary for mounting said bayonet

your garand takes an m5 bayonet, the m14series takes the m6- they are available, but you need the usgi flashider - ie you have to change out the flashider, as norinco made that chage to comply with us import regs- certain models of the m1a don't have the lug either

If you do get a USGI flash hider, it will not fit on the nork (metric vs. imperial thread)

WHAT??

the usgi flashider and ALL other components of a usgi rifle will and should fit right onto a norinco rifle. with the exception of..... connector lock pin..... gas cylinder lock ring..... and flash hider castlenut. ( and of course the bolts must be lapped in)

the connector lock pins are bigger diameter than the norc... slightly (this is the pin that retains your oprod spring and guide.

and in the norinco barrel situation.... if you use a usgi flash hider.... you must reuse your norinco castlenut
same goes for gas assembly.... you re use your norc gas lock

The Gas Cylinder Plug is not compatible as well! So far I have found that anything threaded (excluding the barrel to receiver thread) is incompatible. Right down to the the rear sling swivel/butt plate machine screw

Thanks guys was really wondering about this as I said never actually layed eyes on one.was wondering how it mounted never really thought about it mounting over the flashhider. It sure would get scorched i would think.Anyway now I know.learn something new everyday

"...no way I can see to mount it..." Like t-star says, the two rifles use different bayonets. They're not made to interchange.

One of my heel stamped Poly Tech M14s came with a fully functional ChiCom flash suppressor with the bayonet lug intact.

The lug is slightly over sized and my USGI bayonet with not fit it. I could fix it, but I decided to leave it all original.
