So I've noticed on my norinco m305 that since I switched the stock to a Troy dmr that when the magazine is inserted the op rod is pushed forward slightly removing pressure for the op rod locking pin allowing it to free float. Once free floating the pin will move over and once the magazine is released the op rod will come loose into the mag well. Any help??

I believe you're thinking of the spring guide, the original skinny Norinco version that the rifle came with.

You want to keep that pin from shifting, so the standard procedure is to fill any gaps in the stock that do not keep the pin from shifting to the side. A mix of JB-Weld, set just where you want it, and left to cure so that you can shape it (w/ a file? Sandpaper?) to shape that works when you assemble the gun.

hot glue gun and a piece of popsicle stick works too.
for those who don't want to mess with glues and such, you can also order the longer USGI spec connector pin from brownells or treelinem14
