M14 Mags

Were do most people buy their M14 mags? Are 5/10s possible to find?

TIA

I got 2 5/20 from T.E.C and 2 from Wanstalls(both sponsors above, wanstalls are thermold)

The ones from TEC have welded base, but are the best functioning for me, the ones with a rivet in the spine (tried 4) gave me problems.

I have 3 Norinco 5-rounders (1 bundled, 2 off the EE) and 1 Norinco 5/20 from Marstar. I would recommend Marstar's service and product.

The 5-rounders are not ergonomic to remove but that's the only complaint.

5/10-rounders, haven't seen them. If you do let me know, please.

I purchased a 5/10 from Williams Arms years ago, I believe it's a Springfield Armory mag as it is exactly the same as the one that came with my M1A. I'm not sure if it's still possible for Springfield dealers to import them though, couldn't hurt to ask.

Edit: Springfield still lists the 10 rounders on their site, not sure if these still ship with the rifles or if they'll still limit them for import into Canada.

Can any end users comment on the Thermold mag from Wanstalls?
I'm back in the M1A game and didn't realize that there was a nylon mag.
Any reliability issues? fit&finish?

http://www.canstararms.ca has 5/10 M14 magazines for $19 each.
I have two of them and they function just fine, only issue with mine is that they are pinned to high and only hold four rounds.
They may have corrected this issue since I purchased mine.

Is this in reference to the Thermold mags?

I have 2 and one of them will not strip rounds, the other is fine, they have rivet in the main body of the mag not in the spine

I prefer the original mags from T.E.C, not had any problem with those.

Thanks for the pic.So are you saying that one mag is "non functional"?
BTW some "internet chatter" on another site says Magpul may be coming out with a M14 Pmag. Wouldn't that be the "cats ass" Cheers

One of the mags will not strip the round, as soon as you let go of the charging handle it pushes the round forward a little and stops. I have not messed with it to try and fix as i have 3 X 5/20 and 4 X 5 round mags that i use.

I emailed Wanstalls and they said they have not had any returns?
Was the mag warrantied at all? Are you going to return it?

I didn't bother to return it because its not worth the shipping and time, I got these mags to test, i have so many other, and in time i will try and see what can be done to the follower, it was $30, its not worth spending $10+ to ship it back.
