(This question is from after seeing receivers in LRB Arms site. And it's Hypothetical.)
What are the difference between Standard Receiver and Receiver w/ Rear Lug? And if I was buying one, which is for me? Does it matter?
And how does LRB receivers compared to Norinco forged receiver? Is it worth your money?

Lugged receivers have either a rear lug or a front & rear lug that helps keep the reciever mounted solidly when bedded. The lug is a chunk of steel welded to the rear bottom of the receiver, or it can be cast/forged right into the raw reciever.

Unless you a serious competition shooter, the lugs aren't needed.

The LRB reciever is finished nicer, but goes for around $689.00 U.S. for the reciever alone.

Might be a problem getting a LRB reciever into Canada.

For $399.00 you get a complete Norinco rifle with a forged reciever. The Norc reciever are dimensionally USGI correct. They have been compared to TRW recievers and have measured out virtually identical.

Great. Another nagging question answered. Thank you, Skullboy.
Basically, buying M305 is the best thing I can do. :)
I'm just keep trying to find if there are any reasons why I would spend more money for M14, like buying S/A for example, but I keep getting back to Norinco. I guess I should stop struggling and just accept a great deal as it is;)
