Hey, I have noticed when I engage my safety it basically only gives me one chance to screw up. I pull the trigger safety releases bit does not fire. If I pull again it will fire. Is this right?

Not normal at all !! The safety on new rifles can be really stiff to engage.

The safety will not engage unless the action is cocked .

Do the trigger after assembly test...

1. #### the action and ensure the safety is on , try the trigger it should not fire.

2. release the safety and fire the action .

3. Squeeze the trigger again and keeping it squeezed #### the action and allow the bolt to go forward again see if the hammer follows the bolt forward...if it does that this can lead to slam fires

Not a misfire....a slam fire is when it is firing when bolt is out of battery
(not all the way in and locked) this can cause multiple shots going off or can injure you as well.
