I'm thinking of using the Bushnell 4200 6-24X40 AO (w/Semi-Target Turrets and mil-dot recticle) model #:42-6242M on my M14.

I would really like to know if any one has any FIRST HAND experience with using the Bushnell 4200 6-24 X 40 AO series of Scopes on their M14.

If anyone has, did your M14 "break" or ruin your scope in any way or is the scope holding up just fine?

Thanks...

sorry to say i dont have experience using the 500$ 4200 bushnell on my m14 but i do have a 220$ bushnell 3200 elite 10x on my m14 and it has handled fine with no damage whatsoever. i dont find the recoil on the m14 to be a real scope killer...

I was thinking about using the 10X40 mil-dot 3200 because I've heard some good things about it but I wanted something with variable power and Adjustable Objective along with the target turrets and mil-dot but I'm NOT willing to go to a Leupold Mk4 ($1000+), hopefully I can get some info on whether or not it's a good scope for an M14.

Go with the 6x24 mil dot SIDE FOCUS model. The same size as their 2.5X10 but with the higher mag, side focus and target turrent. Compact, light, high mag, side focus, mil dots, low profile turrents that work. AWESOME>

Superb optics and internals set up for air rifles. Meaning, they will take the abuse from your M305 and not even notice it.

Another excellent choice is the Nikon Buckmaster 4x14 SF. They may not come with mil dots due to US export reg but their new BDC reticle is excellent. Cheaper then the Elite 4200 but a narrower field of view. Optics and mechanicals are great. Not sure if these are set up for air rifles but mine didn't miss a beat on a bolt rifle.

Both Nikon and Bushnell will be coming out with new product in 2007. The nikon monarch line will be side focus too. Awesome optics. Equal to the Elites. From past experience, the Elites gave you a wider field of view which I like. The Nikons had more internal adjustment.

Do you have the model # or specs of the scope you recommended because I can't seem to find which one you mean on the bushnell or leupold sites.
