M14 Smith 2024 mount with Eotech?

I'd like to mount an Eotech on the M305 - would the Smith 2024 and Eotech be an ok combo?.....or should I get the Ultimak rail for the Eotech? I have the 2024 mount already - but no Eotech to test mount at the moment.

I used the Ultimak with my EOTECH. Great combination. Puts the sight well forward of any moving parts and flying brass and I would think it mounts it lower than the 2024 would. And the forward mount gives you better situational awareness b/c this big ass sight isn't right in front of your face.
