I removed my stripper clip guide to mount a rear scope mount. Im thinking I wanna try the scout style and use the stipper clip to reload. My issue is that when removing the pin that holds the guide to the dove tail, the pin split in half and I threw it out. Now that I want to install it again, is there some replacement I can use from Home Depot or Cambodian ire that'll do the trick? Im sure im not the only one....

Many thanks 'o M14 Gurus!

This is what I use: Full Meal Deal M14 from M14 Doc w/shortened barrel; Eotech XPS 2-2 ; Ultimak low profile optic mount
I like the 2 dot system on this Eotech; you can also set it to shut off after 4 hours (or 8) which is good for people like me.

As far as the roll pin goes if you know the diameter it would be nothing to replace. I will check around the shop, might have one laying around.

I damaged the one for my magazine catch while disassembling my trigger so of course needed roll pins , i go over to princess auto to see if they sell them in small packs , and low and behold they have a plastic container about 3x12 full of many different size roll pins for about 9.99 , anyway i bought 2 .

Another good investment would be a roll pin punch set . much less chance of damage to the pins . which princess auto also has for about 8.99 .

On M14TFL there's a guy selling M14 roll-pin set. I think he said 12 models, 3 times each, 6$us. I should get it in 2 weeks.

Very nice rifle Rugerman!
I'd prefer to cowitness an Aimpoint but your BDC reticle is certainly a nice feature.

Ever tried to mount a magnifier with a Sage rear stripper clip sight base? I was thinking about this last week but never saw it anywhere... The Eotech QD flip-to-side would be great for you if it fits.

Mine broke in half while being driven out with the correct sized punch... I was installing my arms #18.

They should all be common sized roll pins you could get at a local auto parts store.

I believe all the round parts (roll pins, theaded items, piston, etc) are metric. Princ Auto should be able to fix you up.

Mine fits so tight in it's keyway, I didn't bother pinning it. Having said that I just went into my gun cabinet to make sure that it was still attached to my M305.

Actually I have an Aimpoint magnifier that I was trying to figure out the best way to mount. Wasn't aware of the Sage SC mount. Any ideas on where to get one in Canada?

Sage products are available with Fabsports and another sponsor that advertise in the EE parts forum.

Aimpoint magnifier will allow lower mounting with for example an ARMS 22 low ring. You're taking a very interesting project. Please don't forget to notify me when you post a review on your eye relief and sight picture!
