M14 Stock removal?

Hi there.
I have an M305 (m14) on its way,
I was wondering if feild stripping is quite similar to that of the M1 Garand?
to remove the stock, do i simply remove the trigger group, bump the butt, and rotate the stock away from the body?

####, i #### it, put the saftey on, take a screwdriver and pull/push the trigger guard out and the whole thing falls apart.

Yeah, the M14 pretty much falls apart with the right force in the right spot. No worries for that man!
