OK so I've filled my M14 U.S. G.I stock PERFECTLY twice and it has cracked along the selector cutout twice. It is a hairline crack but I am reluctant to sand it down, fill it, and paint it, yet again.
Is there anything that will stop this crack from forming or should I just live with it?
It doesn’t bother me that much and I notice that a lot of the U.S. G.I stocks redone by Springfield have the same issue as report by those on the U.S. Firing Line forum.
I think I'll just live with it cracked as it does not impede performance at all unless someone has some sort of magic filler to use.

EDIT TO ADD: I love my M14! I want to get about a dozen more. I've only put 200 rounds through it and today it was doing about 2" groups with iron sights today and everything ran without a hitch. My sight adjustments where bang on for the various ranges and ran like a top. My op-rod guide is rock solid and my stock pretty much floats the barrel.
