M14 Tactical Handguard Rail

Hey Guys,

Need a bit of help, I love the look of the M14 handguard rail, I want to mount a scope on it, I was going to wait to ask this till I attend the Clinic but I'm an inpatient man and this is a forum full of experts. I came accross this site and on it I found this:

Is it worth it? I really like the look of it and the price sure is right, if I get it what would be a decent scope to put on it, I see some great looking scopes on that site too but is it worth it, please help an newb.

I have purchased the UTG tri-rail, along with a 6" rail extension, which I plan to mount the scope on (so that it sits further back). I'm just waiting for my new stock to come in before I set that up. It's discussed in the thread TRGOD36 linked as well.

Love mine I use a holo site in front of the reciver so I can use the stripper clip. If you are going to mount a regular scope over the reciver don't waste you money there are better options. Try fabsports in montreal.

i recently bought a new M14 , and vowed that i would keep it standard.. so far i have picked up a USGI FG stock, Millet SP2 red dot sight, rooster is sending me one of his mounts.. another money pit :D just cant help it .

i have the VLTOR quad rails on one of my other M14's .the top section is what the UTG rail is modeled off.. its a handy unit to have, but bulky, i would prefer the UTG rail
 
Don't waste your miney on a leapers aim point get a bushnell holo site the one that is a knockoff of the eotech you will very happy you spent the extra bucks.

Yeah you can't tell a comparable difference between the two other than the housing being different. The sight, picture and buttons are pretty much identical. Eotech makes the holosight for bushnell.
