After a couple months, I finally got out to shoot off a couple rounds out of my new (to me) M14 the other day. Man, is it a tack-driver! One of my brother's friends in the infantry reserves was so impressed by the M14 that he wedged a quarter half way into a palette and put up a challenge to me to hit it. I did this with just one round right after dusk at 50 metres (private range at the back of my farm), no chance for stranglers behind the targets).

The first time I shot this M14 I only had a handful of 180s. The groupings were about 2" at 25 metres. This time I was using Remington Express Core-Lokt 150gr rounds. Laser beams!!

Norinco made
- USGI synthetic stock
- Badger Ordnance NM spring & guide
- Flashhider, USGI or NM (not sure).
- TSA 3-point steel mount and rings
- Harris bipod

I didn't have 100 yrds to shoto them at. 50 meters was as far back as I could go. Granted the unit conversion gets me a little closer.

I think punching the centre out of a loonie at 100 meters would be great fun. I might need a better scope though, I only have a bushnell 3-9x sport model. Even at 50 meters, the crosshairs were approaching the same width as the quarter when looking through the scope.
